Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with 8+ years of expertise in Power BI, Power Apps, and SQL Server to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a key role in creating and optimizing business intelligence solutions, leading projects, and managing stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and experience in managing teams, with a proven ability to work both as an individual contributor and as a team-oriented team player. The candidate should be able to understand business workflow with respect to projects/program management and come up with proposals of continuous improvement by providing intelligent solution to existing issues. The candidate should be able to design the architectural framework for new requirements and should be able to provide algorithm to proceed using Power BI functional expertise.

Responsibilities

- Power BI Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models. Utilize advanced Power BI features, including DAX, Power Query, and data transformations to deliver insightful analytics.
- Power Apps Development: Design and implement Power Apps solutions to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency, integrating them with backend systems where necessary.
- Power Automate Development: Experienced in leveraging Power Automate flows to streamline and automate data processes within Power BI environments.



Skilled in creating seamless workflows to automate data refreshes, trigger notifications, and integrate external systems, ensuring real-time data accessibility and enhanced reporting
- SQL Server Expertise: Utilize SQL Server for database design, querying, and optimization. Ensure efficient data extraction and transformation for reporting purposes.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a team of developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise. Facilitate collaboration between team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality reports and applications.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into actionable BI solutions. Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and outcomes.
- Individual Contributor: While taking on a leadership role, the candidate will also be expected to work independently, particularly on complex reporting tasks or when tight deadlines arise.
- Data Integration & ETL: Integrate data from various sources (including but not limited to SQL Server, cloud-based systems, and third-party APIs) and ensure smooth ETL processes for data accuracy and consistency.
- Performance Tuning & Optimization: Ensure that Power BI reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, utilizing best practices for large datasets and complex queries.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring adherence to best practices in data governance, report design, and security standards.

Qualifications

- Power BI: Strong experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards, including advanced features like Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
- Power Apps: Proficiency in building and managing Power Apps applications to automate workflows and improve user productivity.
- Power Automate: Proficient in designing flows that enhance the efficiency of Power BI reports and dashboards by automating data ingestion, data transformation, and alert management, enabling a more responsive and dynamic business intelligence solution.
- SQL Server:



Expertise in SQL Server database management, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing database performance.
- Team Leadership: Proven experience in leading and mentoring a development team, ensuring the successful completion of projects while fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage client expectations.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Project Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize effectively while working both independently and in a team setting.

Must have skills:

- 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying Power BI solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI desktop, Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
- Strong experience in working with large datasets and optimizing Power BI reports for performance.
- Expertise in SQL for complex data querying, transformations, and integrations with Power BI.
- Integrate Power BI with other systems and data sources (SQL, Share Point, Excel, for seamless data flow.
- Design and develop custom Power Apps to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Create, manage, and optimize automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline tasks and integrate systems.

Good to have skills:

- Familiarity with other Business Intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Qlik View, or Looker, for cross-platform integration and versatility in BI environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as Azure or AWS, and experience deploying and managing BI solutions in cloud-based environments.
- Experience with Power BI Embedded for integrating BI reports into third-party applications or web portals.
- Familiarity with Power Shell scripting for Power BI administration, report deployment, and automation tasks.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and solutions, including ETL processes and tools like Azure Data Factory or SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Knowledge of Data Governance and best practices in data security, privacy, and compliance for BI applications.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
