Role Description

As a Senior Technical Animator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality character animation systems for Project Takedown. You will work closely with programmers and designers to deliver great animations directly within Unreal Engine 5 animation tools.

Daily tasks include troubleshooting animation pipelines, fixing bad retargets, refining character movement and interactions, crafting new animations using Unreal tools (e.g., Control Rig, Skeletal Editor, MetaHuman markerless mocap, etc.), and ensuring assets meet performance and gameplay requirements.

This is a full-time role requiring close collaboration with the local development team in Mumbai to deliver polished, responsive, and immersive animation experiences.

Qualifications

- Strong animation skills for video games (Unreal Animation Tools + Maya and/or Blender), with proven experience in human character animation (players and AI).
- Proficiency with motion capture workflows, including data cleanup, retargeting, and integration into Unreal Engine 5.




- Expertise in rigging, including building and maintaining complex character rigs and skinning for real-time environments.
- Professional experience working on video games, ideally on console titles, with a solid grasp of real-time engine constraints and optimization.
- Strong understanding of Unreal Engine 5 characters and animation systems, including metahuman, state machines, blend spaces, and Control Rig.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly any technical and artistic requirements.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Animation, Game Development, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent skilled experience.
- Experience mentoring team members and contributing to best practices and documentation is highly beneficial.
