Job Context

Birla White (BW) is White Cement division of UltraTech Cement Limited and is a P&L; centre. In India, BW is leader in White Cement as well as main Value Added Product Wall Care Putty with WC installed capacity of 680,000 MT per annum and Wall Care Putty capacity of 8,00,000 MT per annum. Business has plans to increase White Cement capacity by another 7,20,000 MT and Wall Care Putty capacity by another 4,50,000 MT per annum.

White plant is fully integrated and automated processing. The plant is accredited with ISO 9002, ISO 14001, SA 8000, and OHSAS 18001. BW sells WC &

- WCP in multipack variants of 1 KG, 5KG, 20 KG, 25 KG, 40 KG and 50 KG.

In White Cement category, there is only one major competitor M/s JK White Cement with BW commanding a Market Share of 57% whereas in cement based putty, there are multiple competitors across organized and unorganized sector with BW commanding a market share of over 45.5%. Over the years, WCP has grown to become major contributor to White Cement Industry and is contributing 60%-65% of the total revenues. However with Paint majors (Asian, Berger, Nerolac etc.) becoming a potent force in WCP market, it is becoming extremely difficult to maintain the high margins the industry has achieved in the past.

- To cross check, validate and finalize consolidated Finished Goods and Process inventories for due inventory valuation as per AS- 2 costing.
- To compare the Actual EBIDTA Nos. with P&B; Nos. and prepare analysis of deviations in a Tally format giving details of impact on A/c of higher/lower sales volume, Sales mix/realization, Raw material cost, operating parameters, Overheads and Salary wages and stock valuation.
- Evaluation and implementation of internal controls and internal checks.

KRA2 Planning &
- Budgeting Exercise :

- Follow up with various Dept. & ensure timely completion of annual P&B; exercise
- To analyze, various information from various departments for consolidate annual P&B;, with comparison with historical data and point out the anomalies and area of improvement
- Identifying Benchmarking data on the basis of past performance and after considering impact of modification / expansion
- To check availability and area wise requirement and ensure that no mismatches are left in budget

KRA3 BRC Review: - MIS Coordinate &
- Follow up with various Dept. for reports required by various agencies

- Ensure timely submissions of various reports required by BRC
- Coordinate across Departments/ Functions for collection of data/information for further Analysis
- Ensure timely preparation of BRC Presentation

KRA4 Cost Records &
- Cost Audit , Physical verification of Inventories :-

- Ensure preparation of Cost Records as per Cost Accounting standards and get it audited with Cost Auditors
- Ensure physical verification of Inventories & updation in SAP




- Co-ordination with all Technical/ Commercial Depts. for various information required.
- To ensure preparation of Cost Sheets for each cost center taking into account the various expenses incurred and Production to identify Product wise Margin.
- To check Cost Statement received from Katni, GRC-Division and to recast the same according to actual Cost and prepare consolidated statement of Cost of Sales, Sales realization and margin.
- To ensure preparation of reconciliation statement of Profit as per Cost &
- Financial Accounts.
- To ensure preparation of various Annexure and Performa of Cost Audit report as per guideline of Cost Audit Report Rule issued by the Department of Company Affairs.
- Keeping Abreast knowledge of AS-2 &

KRA5 Project Analysis :-
- Preparing details for going ahead for New Project for top Management
- Feasibility study
- Sensitivity Analysis &

- Trend analysis

KRA6 Formats and Systems Development:
- Initiate New Systems & various MIS formats for Cost effectiveness
- To maintain sufficient historical Data Bank-for reference and analysis
- To make MIS easy to understand but still highlighting the critical issues

KRA7 Development of Subordinate: - Build & sustain a conducive work culture by effective management of people to improve productivity, growth and motivation levels of employees to institutionalize best organizing practices in the unit.
