Role Summary The OutSystems Tech Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, engineering governance, and delivery oversight for enterprise-grade applications built on the OutSystems platform. This role combines hands-on development expertise with technical leadership responsibilities to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

The Tech Lead works closely with Solution Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions while driving engineering excellence across the application lifecycle.

Scope of Work &

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership &

- Architecture:

- Lead technical implementation of enterprise applications using OutSystems ODC and OutSystems 11.
- Translate business and solution architecture requirements into implementation roadmaps and technical designs.
- Define and govern architecture standards, integration patterns, reusable frameworks, and development best practices.
- Ensure application scalability, performance, maintainability, security, and availability requirements are met.
- Review technical designs and challenge approaches that introduce unnecessary complexity, technical debt, or operational risk.
- Support estimation, solution planning, backlog refinement, and technical risk assessments.

Engineering &

- Solution Delivery

- Provide hands-on leadership for complex implementations, integrations, performance optimizations, and critical production issues.
- Lead development of enterprise applications, services, reusable components, and platform capabilities.




- Investigate and resolve complex technical defects, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges.
- Evaluate platform capabilities, third-party products, APIs, and supporting technologies.
- Support platform upgrades, architecture improvements, and application modernization initiatives.

Quality, Governance &

- Security

- Establish and enforce development standards, code review practices, and quality controls.
- Promote secure coding standards and application security best practices.
- Ensure compliance with architectural standards, security policies, and engineering governance requirements.
- Support release readiness reviews, production validation, and deployment governance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on technical quality and engineering maturity.

Team Leadership &

- Mentoring

- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to developers and senior developers.
- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support delivery planning, resource allocation, dependency management, and technical decision-making.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

Integration, DevOps &

- Production Support

- Lead development of integrations using REST APIs,



SOAP services, and enterprise systems.
- Support CI/CD implementation, workplace management, deployment automation, and release management.
- Ensure solutions are observable through logging, monitoring, diagnostics, and operational documentation.
- Participate in production incident management and root cause analysis activities.

Required Skills &

- Experience

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- 6+ years of professional OutSystems development experience.
- 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
- Strong expertise in OutSystems ODC and OutSystems 11.
- Extensive experience developing Reactive Web Applications.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, integration patterns, and enterprise software development.
- Experience with SQL, database design, query optimization, and transaction management.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and the .NET ecosystem.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, testing strategies, and production support.

Preferred Skills

- OutSystems Architecture Certifications.
- Enterprise modernization and legacy transformation experience.
- Application performance tuning and observability experience.
- Identity management and authentication integrations.
- Experience supporting globally distributed teams.
