Job Summary

Birlasoft is looking for an experienced Wire Mock Tester with 6+ years of experience in software testing, API testing, service virtualization, and test automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in Wire Mock for mocking REST APIs, simulating dependent services, and enabling independent testing of applications in complex integration environments.

The candidate will collaborate with development, QA, and Dev Ops teams to build reliable automated test solutions, improve test coverage, and accelerate delivery in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain API test scenarios using Wire Mock.
- Create and manage mock APIs, stubs, request matching rules, and response templates.
- Configure Wire Mock mappings for HTTP methods, headers, query parameters, request bodies, and URL patterns.
- Implement dynamic responses, response templating, delays, fault simulation, and error scenarios.
- Perform REST API testing, integration testing, system testing, and regression testing.
- Virtualize dependent services to enable testing when actual downstream systems are unavailable.
- Integrate Wire Mock with automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Validate API contracts, HTTP status codes, response payloads, headers, and error handling.
- Develop automated test scripts using Java and frameworks such as REST Assured, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Analyze test failures, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with developers to resolve defects.
- Maintain reusable test assets, mock configurations, and test data.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, test planning, code reviews,



and continuous improvement activities.

Required Technical Skills Wire Mock and Service Virtualization
- Strong hands-on experience with Wire Mock.
- Creating stubs and mappings using JSON configuration and Java APIs.
- Request matching using URL, HTTP method, headers, query parameters, and request body.
- Response templating, dynamic responses, and scenario-based state management.
- Simulating HTTP errors, timeouts, latency, and unavailable downstream services.
- Wire Mock standalone/server mode and integration with automated tests.
- Understanding of service virtualization and API dependency management.

API Testing and Automation
- Strong experience in REST API testing.
- HTTP/HTTPS protocols, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and JSON/XML payloads.
- API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Automation using REST Assured and Java.
- JUnit or TestNG for test execution and assertions.
- JSON schema validation and API contract testing.

Programming and Frameworks
- Java programming fundamentals.
- Object-oriented programming and exception handling.
- Maven or Gradle build tools.
- Selenium or other UI automation tools, if required by the project.
- Experience developing reusable test automation frameworks.

CI/CD and Tools
- Git and version control.
- Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Basic Docker knowledge and containerized test execution.




- Jira or similar defect and test management tools.
- Familiarity with logging and troubleshooting tools.

Experience and Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Wire Mock and API mocking.
- Solid understanding of API testing and integration testing methodologies.
- Experience with Java-based API automation frameworks.
- Ability to simulate complex service dependencies and negative test scenarios.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with microservices-based applications.
- Knowledge of contract testing tools such as Pact.
- Exposure to Kafka or other messaging technologies and event-driven systems.
- Experience with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of performance testing using JMeter or similar tools.
- Understanding of test strategy, risk-based testing, and quality engineering practices.
