Job Summary

Birlasoft is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Architect with 12+ years of expertise in designing, developing, and architecting scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, up-to-date frontend technologies, cloud platforms, and distributed systems, along with proven technical leadership and architectural decision-making skills.

The candidate will be responsible for defining end-to-end technical architecture, driving engineering best practices, and delivering robust enterprise solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and drive end-to-end application architecture for enterprise-grade solutions.
- Design scalable, resilient, and secure applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Lead full-stack development across backend services and frontend applications.
- Establish architectural standards, coding best practices, design patterns, and engineering guidelines.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Drive cloud-native application development, containerization, and deployment automation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend appropriate technology stacks.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, architects, and Dev Ops teams.
- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, performance tuning, and security assessments.
- Mentor senior developers and technical leads and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Support CI/CD implementation, automated testing, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
- Ensure applications meet requirements for scalability, availability, security, maintainability, and performance.

Required Technical Skills Core Java and Backend Development

- Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- RESTful API development and enterprise application integration.
- Exception handling, dependency injection, and performance optimization.

Microservices and Distributed Systems
- Microservices architecture and distributed system design.
- API Gateway, service discovery, fault tolerance, and resiliency patterns.
- Synchronous and asynchronous service communication.
- Domain-driven design (DDD), clean architecture, and design patterns.
- Event-driven architecture and distributed transaction patterns.

Frontend Development
- Angular or React.
- Java Script/Type Script, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Responsive UI development and frontend-backend integration.
- Frontend architecture, reusable components, and application performance optimization.

API Security and Integration
- REST APIs, OpenAPI/Swagger, and GraphQL.
- OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT.
- API security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

Messaging and Databases
- Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
- PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or other relational databases.
- MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL and caching technologies.
- Database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Cloud and Dev Ops
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Required Experience
- 12+ years of professional software development experience.
- Significant experience in Java-based enterprise application development.
- Proven experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
- Experience leading technical design, architecture discussions, and technology selection.
- Strong understanding of application security, scalability, availability, and performance.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise application modernization and monolith-to-microservices migration.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, and cloud architecture best practices.
- Experience with high-volume, distributed, and mission-critical applications.
- Familiarity with Dev SecOps, automated quality gates, and security standards.
- Experience in technical leadership, architecture governance, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Relevant cloud or architecture certifications are an advantage.
