VMware platform administration: Install, configure, operate and maintain VMware vSphere, vCenter Server and
ESXi hosts.
Virtual machine lifecycle: Provision, configure, clone, migrate, resize and decommission virtual machines in line
with approved standards and change controls.
Operations and maintenance: Perform routine health checks, patching, upgrades, backup coordination, capacity
reviews and operational housekeeping.
Incident and problem management: Troubleshoot platform, host, VM, networking, storage and performance
issues; identify root causes and document corrective actions.
Availability and resilience: Support HA/DRS, vMotion, resource allocation, recovery procedures and business
continuity requirements.
Storage and networking: Support datastore and storage connectivity, multipathing, virtual switches, port groups,
VMkernel networking, and related vSAN/NSX components as applicable.
Monitoring and optimisation: Use vCenter and monitoring tools,



including vRealize/Aria Operations where
available, to identify bottlenecks and improve resource utilisation.
Security and compliance: Apply access controls, certificate and configuration standards, security baselines,
backup practices and audit requirements.
Automation and scripting: Build and maintain reusable scripts and workflows using PowerCLI and Power Shell;
use Python or Ansible where appropriate to reduce manual effort.
Infrastructure as Code: Contribute to repeatable provisioning and configuration workflows using tools such as
Terraform and Ansible.
Documentation and collaboration: Maintain runbooks, SOPs, change records and technical documentation;
collaborate with Windows/Linux, storage, network, security and application teams.
