Key Responsibilities and Duties
Patient Care : Conducting comprehensive skin exams, reviewing medical histories, and diagnosing disorders.
Medical Procedures : Performing skin biopsies, punch excisions, cryosurgery, and Mohs surgery to remove cancerous or damaged tissue.
Cosmetic Dermatology : Administering aesthetic treatments like Botox, fillers, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, and hair loss treatments.
Treatment Planning : Prescribing medications, creating patient-specific skincare routines, and monitoring progress.
Education & Support : Educating patients on sun protection, skin cancer prevention, and managing chronic skin conditions.
Collaboration : Supervising aesthetic technicians and collaborating with other specialists, such as oncologists or rheumatologists.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education : A Medical Degree (MD or DO) with a completed residency in dermatology.
Certification : Board certified or board eligible in dermatology.
License : Active license to practice medicine in the relevant state/country.
Clinical Skills : Robust diagnostic skills, proficiency in surgical procedures, and in-depth knowledge of skin pathology.
Interpersonal Skills : Excellent communication and the ability to provide empathetic care to patients with visible skin conditions.
