Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database servers across production, testing, and development environments.
Monitor database performance and optimise queries, indexes, and configurations.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including regular restoration testing.
Configure and maintain high availability and replication solutions.
Manage database access, user permissions, and security controls.
Troubleshoot database incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures.
Plan and execute database migrations, patching, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
Monitor storage utilisation, database growth, and capacity requirements.
Work with developers to review database schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries.
Automate routine administration, monitoring,



and maintenance tasks.
Maintain documentation covering database configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
Provide on-call and after-hours support for critical incidents and planned maintenance when required.
