About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Engineering Backend to lead backend engineering strategy, architecture, and execution. The role involves building scalable, reliable systems, developing high-performing teams, and aligning engineering initiatives with business goals.

Key Responsibilities
Define backend engineering strategy, architecture, and technology roadmap.
Design and scale high-performance, secure, and highly available backend systems.
Lead API development, microservices, distributed systems, databases, and event-driven architectures.
Drive engineering best practices, code quality, system reliability, and performance optimization.
Build, mentor, and scale engineering teams and technical leaders.
Partner with Product, DevOps, Security, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery.
Manage technical debt, engineering efficiency, and infrastructure scalability.




Establish engineering metrics and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.

Required Qualifications
15+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership.
Robust expertise in backend architecture, system design, distributed systems, and microservices.
Proficiency in technologies such as Java, Go, Python, Node.js, or similar.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, messaging systems, and cloud platforms.
Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, and production operations.
Proven track record of scaling systems, leading teams, and delivering complex engineering initiatives.
Robust strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
