Need an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee and optimize freight operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in transportation and fleet management, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and reducing costs.
Role & Responsibilities
Maintenance: Ensure all vehicles are in valuable condition and supervise repairs on a timely basis
Route Planning: Analyze and optimize routes to reduce fuel consumption and increase utilization.
Carrier Management: Build and maintain relationships with carriers, brokers to secure competitive rates for freight
Load Matching: Identify and match return freight opportunities with available truck capacity
Cost Control: Monitor and control costs associated with return freight, including fuel, tolls.
Performance Metrics: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as empty km, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Team Management: Lead and develop a team of drivers, mechanic, cleaners and providing guidance, training,
and support to ensure successful operations.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Compliance: Ensure all renewals and permits are in place.
Freight Planning: Develop and implement strategies to minimize empty km and maximize freight.
Preferred candidate profile
Age between 30 - 40 years
3+ years of experience in fleet management, maintenance or transportation in South India managing a fleet over 50 vehicles
Solid knowledge of truck repairs and maintenance
Proven track record of success in freight management
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to lead and manage a team
