A Nursing Assistant (also known as a Nurse Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA) provides core, hands-on patient care and daily living support under the supervision of licensed nurses (RNs or LPNs). [1, 2]Core Responsibilities
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients bathe, dress, groom, use the restroom, and maintain personal hygiene. [1]
Nutrition and Feeding: Serve meals, feed patients, and track food and liquid intake. [1, 2]
Vital Signs and Monitoring: Measure and record temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure, reporting changes to medical staff. [1, 2]
Mobility and Positioning: Transfer patients between beds and wheelchairs, help them walk, and turn bedridden patients to prevent bedsores. [1]
Room Maintenance and Safety: Change bed linens, sanitize bedside areas, stock supplies, and dispose of biomedical waste. [1, 2]
Communication and Emotional Support: Listen to patient concerns, offer companionship, and update nurses or doctors on behavioral or physical shifts. [1, 2]

Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Training and Certification:



Completion of a state-approved or accredited nursing assistant training program and passing a competency exam (yielding CNA status where required).
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand for long shifts, and safely reposition patients.
