Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lab Technician who has expertise in both laboratory testing and blood bank operations. The candidate must be capable of handling laboratory equipment, performing diagnostic tests, maintaining accurate records, and following all safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests.
Collect, label, and process blood and other patient samples.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Perform blood grouping, Rh typing, and compatibility testing (cross-matching).
Assist in blood collection, component preparation, storage, and issue as per applicable regulations and authorization.
Maintain proper blood bank records, registers, and documentation.
Ensure correct storage and monitoring of blood and blood components.
Follow infection control, biomedical waste management, and laboratory safety protocols.




Maintain quality control and ensure accurate reporting of test results.
Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and other laboratory personnel.
Ensure proper maintenance of inventory, reagents, and blood bank supplies.

Required Qualifications
DMLT / BMLT or equivalent recognized qualification.
Relevant experience in laboratory and blood bank operations.
Practical knowledge of blood grouping, cross-matching, and compatibility testing.
Knowledge of laboratory instruments, sample processing, and quality control.
Understanding of blood bank safety standards and applicable regulations.

Required Skills
Strong technical and practical laboratory skills.
Knowledge of blood bank procedures and documentation.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Positive communication and teamwork.
Ability to work in rotational shifts, including emergencies, as required.

Preferred Candidate

A candidate with prior hospital laboratory experience and solid hands-on expertise in blood bank operations will be preferred.
