The Role

The Scrum Master will facilitate and ensure theeffective application of Scrum principles and practices within the productdevelopment teams.

This role focuses on guiding teams to achieve highlevels of performance, quality, and reliability while adhering to the agilemethodology.

The Scrum Master will work closely with ProductOwners, Product Directors, and the Chief Product Officer (CPO) to align thedevelopment team's work with the overall product vision, strategy, and businessobjectives.

The Scrum Master will also be responsible for removingimpediments, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, and ensuringthe team meets sprint commitments and goals.

Primary Skillset

- Agile and Scrum expertise, facilitation ofceremonies, conflict resolution, servant leadership, coaching teams.

SecondarySkillset

- Projectmanagement, stakeholder engagement, risk management, data-drivendecision-making, technical understanding.

- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified ScrumProfessional (CSP), or similar Agile certifications are preferred.

- Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g.,JIRA,



Trello, or equivalent) is preferred.

Requirements

Scrum Facilitation and AgileCoaching:

- Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies:Organize and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprintplanning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are conductedeffectively and efficiently.

- Agile Coaching: Act as a coach tothe development team, Product Owners, and other stakeholders in Scrum and Agilebest practices, promoting an understanding and adoption of Agile principles.

Continuous Improvement:

- Encourage continuous improvement within the team byfacilitating retrospectives and identifying actionable steps to enhanceprocesses and productivity.

Sprint Planning and Execution:

- Sprint Goal Setting: Collaboratewith the Product Owner to define sprint goals and ensure they are clearlyunderstood by the development team.

- Backlog Refinement: Assist theProduct Owner in refining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure thatthe team works on the highest-value features that align with business goals.

- Monitoring Progress: Track andmonitor the team’s progress against sprint goals and velocity, ensuring thatthe team stays on track to meet commitments.

Impediment Removal:

- Identify and Resolve Blockers:Proactively identify and address any impediments or blockers that may impactthe team’s ability to deliver on sprint commitments, facilitating solutionsthat keep the team moving forward.

- Advocate for Resources: Advocatefor necessary resources, tools, and support required by the team to achieveoptimal productivity and quality.

Team Development andPerformance:

- Foster Collaboration: Create acollaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages opencommunication, knowledge sharing, and a strong sense of team unity.

- Team Coaching:



Provide guidance andsupport to team members to enhance their skills, address challenges, andpromote career development.

- Performance Management: Support theperformance management process by providing input on individual and teamperformance, helping to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

Quality and DeliverableManagement:

- Ensure Quality Standards: Work withthe development team and Product Owner to ensure that deliverables meet qualitystandards and acceptance criteria before being released.

- Velocity Optimization: Monitor andoptimize team velocity to improve the predictability and efficiency of sprintdelivery.

- Commitment Management: Ensure thatthe team commits to realistic and achievable sprint goals and holds the teamaccountable for meeting these commitments.

Collaboration andCommunication:

- Cross-Functional Coordination:Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Directors, and other stakeholders toensure alignment between development efforts and business objectives.

- Stakeholder Communication: Providetransparent communication to stakeholders regarding sprint progress, potentialrisks, and areas of improvement.

- Alignment with Product Vision:Ensure that the team’s work aligns with the broader product vision and strategyset by the Chief Product Officer and Product Director.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computerscience, Information Technology, Business, or a related field; relevant workexperience may be considered.

- 3+ years of experience as a ScrumMaster or in a similar role within an Agile environment.

- Robust understanding of Scrum,Agile, and Lean principles, with experience applying these methodologies inreal-world scenarios.

- Excellent facilitation, coaching,and conflict resolution skills.

- Strong organizational skills andattention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Ability to build relationships andwork collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

- Certified Scrum Master (CSM),Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or similar Agile certifications arepreferred.

- Familiarity with Agile projectmanagement tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, or equivalent) is preferred.
