About the Position

Agonda Palm Beach Resort is looking for an experienced, hardworking and enthusiastic Bartender / Bar All-Rounder to join our beachfront restaurant and bar, The Rolling Sea.

We are looking for someone who is skilled at preparing cocktails and serving beverages, but is also willing to take food and beverage orders, serve guests, assist with restaurant operations, maintain cleanliness, manage stock and support the service team.

This is a fully hands-on position, not a bartender-only role. Our restaurant operates with a small team, and everyone is expected to contribute to smooth daily operations.

The ideal candidate should be proactive, organised, hardworking and willing to take initiative without constant supervision.

Important – Seasonal Employment

This is a seasonal position, not a year-round job.

Our resort generally operates from September/October until the end of May or beginning of June.

Candidates must be comfortable working on a seasonal contract. Opportunities to return for future seasons may be available based on performance and mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bartending & Beverage Preparation

- Prepare and serve classic cocktails, signature cocktails, mocktails and other beverages.
- Have good knowledge of whisky, gin, vodka, rum, tequila, beer and wine.
- Follow standard recipes, correct pouring measures and presentation standards.
- Prepare garnishes, syrups, mixers and other bar ingredients.
- Maintain proper bar setup and mise-en-place.
- Ensure drinks are prepared consistently and served promptly.

2. Food & Beverage Order Taking and Guest Service

- Take food and beverage orders directly from guests at restaurant tables and the bar.
- Have good knowledge of the restaurant's food menu, including Goan, Indian, Continental, Indo-Chinese and seafood dishes.
- Explain menu items, ingredients, spice levels and available options to guests.
- Make recommendations and upsell food, cocktails, wines and other beverages.
- Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system.
- Communicate special requests, dietary preferences and food allergies to the kitchen.
- Serve food and beverages to guests when required.
- Follow up with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their orders.
- Assist with billing and payment collection when required.
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
- Maintain friendly, attentive and efficient service throughout the shift.

Bar Cleaning & Hygiene – Daily Responsibilities

Cleaning is an essential part of this position.

- Clean and sanitise the entire bar counter, preparation areas and workstations daily.
- Wash, polish and organise glasses, cocktail shakers, strainers, jiggers and bar equipment.
- Clean shelves, bottle displays, cabinets and storage racks.
- Clean refrigerators, chillers, ice bins and other equipment regularly.
- Sweep and mop bar floors, including behind and underneath equipment.
- Empty, clean and sanitise dustbins.
- Keep sinks, drains and washing areas clean.
- Clean spills immediately.
- Maintain clean and organised bar storage areas.
- Carry out scheduled deep cleaning.
- Ensure the bar is thoroughly cleaned before opening and after closing.

4. Stock Management & Inventory

- Check daily opening and closing beverage stock.
- Monitor liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes and other supplies.
- Assist with daily and monthly physical stock counts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Follow FIFO stock rotation.
- Check expiry dates and product storage conditions.
- Report shortages, breakages and wastage.
- Follow standard pouring measures to minimise wastage.
- Receive, check, carry and arrange beverage deliveries.
- Refill refrigerators, shelves and bar stations.
- Maintain accountability for bar stock and equipment.

5. Restaurant Service & General All-Rounder Duties

- Assist waiters and runners during busy periods.
- Take food and drink orders whenever required, including when restaurant servers are occupied.
- Serve food, cocktails and other beverages to tables.
- Clear and reset tables after guests finish.
- Collect used glasses, bottles, plates and cutlery.
- Assist with cleaning restaurant tables, chairs and service stations.
- Help prepare the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner service.
- Refill water, napkins, condiments and other table supplies.
- Assist with arranging restaurant furniture and equipment.
- Support the team with opening and closing duties.
- Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure orders are served correctly and promptly.
- Help with general restaurant duties as directed by the restaurant manager.

6. Opening & Closing Responsibilities

- Prepare the bar before service begins.
- Check ice, garnishes, mixers, glassware and beverage stock.




- Ensure refrigerators are stocked and equipment is working correctly.
- Keep the bar clean and organised throughout service.
- Complete closing stock checks.
- Wash, dry and store all bar tools and glassware.
- Clean counters, floors, sinks, equipment and workstations.
- Dispose of waste correctly.
- Ensure the bar is clean, organised and ready for the following day.

Candidate Requirements

- Minimum 1–2 years of bartending experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and beverage service.
- Must be comfortable taking food and beverage orders and serving restaurant guests.
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food menus and restaurant service.
- Willing to perform cleaning, washing, stocking and general restaurant duties.
- Hardworking, physically active and comfortable with a hands-on role.
- Good communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Well-groomed, polite and professional.
- Honest, reliable and responsible with stock and cash handling.
- Able to work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Willing to assist colleagues whenever required.
- Able to take initiative without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working in a small team where responsibilities are shared.
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, beach club, restaurant or cocktail bar preferred.
- Comfortable working on a seasonal contract.
