About the Role

Nirmala Foundation is a registered public charitable trust in Kalyani, operating a group of healthcare and educational institutions, including a 605-bed general hospital and institutes of nursing, pharmacy, hospital management and allied health sciences. We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Executive to keep buildings, utilities and equipment across our campuses secure, functional and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance

- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, DG sets, pumps, lifts, UPS and water treatment systems.
- Attend to breakdowns promptly, diagnose faults and restore services with minimal disruption to hospital and academic operations.
- Supervise civil repairs, carpentry, painting and general upkeep of buildings, hostels and common areas.

2. Utilities & Safety Compliance

- Ensure uninterrupted power, water and essential services, with priority for critical hospital areas.
- Maintain fire-fighting equipment, alarm systems and emergency lighting in working order. Support mock drills and safety inspections.
- Keep statutory records for lifts, DG sets, electrical installations, fire safety and pollution control, ready for inspection.

3. Vendor & Contract Coordination

- Coordinate with AMC vendors, contractors and service engineers.



Verify work quality and certify completion.
- Obtain quotations, support purchase of spares and consumables, and maintain stock of critical spares.

4. Records & Reporting

- Maintain maintenance logs, equipment registers, complaint registers and AMC schedules.
- Track complaint resolution and submit periodic reports on maintenance status, costs and pending issues.

5. Team Supervision

- Allocate and supervise the work of electricians, plumbers, technicians and housekeeping support staff.
- Ensure adherence to safety practices, shift duties and on-call availability for emergencies.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering; ITI with substantial experience will also be considered.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital, educational institution or large facility.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, DG sets, HVAC, plumbing and fire safety equipment.
- Ability to read basic drawings and maintain records, with basic computer skills (MS Excel, email).
- Willingness to attend emergencies outside regular hours when required.
