About the Role
We are looking for a Lead - People & Talent to build and lead the People function at Xovian Aerospace. Working closely with the founders, you will shape our talent strategy, establish people processes, and build an organisation that attracts exceptional talent and enables teams to perform at their best.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in an early-stage environment and enjoys building from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Acquisition: Own hiring strategy, workforce planning, and recruitment across technical and business functions, including specialised and leadership roles.
- People Operations: Establish HR policies, employment processes, onboarding, employee engagement, and performance management frameworks.
- Compliance & Administration: Oversee HR operations, coordinate payroll, and manage applicable employment-related statutory compliance with relevant internal teams and external advisors.
- Background Verification: Coordinate pre-employment background checks, employment and education verification, and reference checks, ensuring appropriate confidentiality and compliance with applicable laws.
- Compensation & Perks: Develop compensation structures, role levels, and employee benefits; coordinate ESOP programmes with leadership and professional advisors.
- Culture & Organisation: Partner with founders and managers to build a high-performance culture centred on ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications
- 6-8 years of experience across HR, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition,



including substantial hands-on recruitment experience, including 4+ years of hands-on technical recruitment.
- Proven ability to close senior hires and build effective hiring pipelines.
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or technology-driven organisation.
- Experience in the deep-tech, aerospace, space, semiconductors, electronics, or AI sectors.
- Working knowledge of Indian employment practices and statutory compliance.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently and build processes in a fast-changing environment.
Good to Have
- Experience establishing a People function from an early stage.
- Familiarity with the Indian Space Ecosystem
- Exposure to ESOPs, international hiring and HRMS platforms.
- Network in similar industry, academia and research institutes
