Job OverviewWe are looking for a Process Simulation Engineer with hands-on experience in Modelica and OpenModelica to develop, simulate, and analyse agile models of thermal energy storage systems and industrial process equipment.
The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and process modelling, along with the ability to translate engineering principles into simulation models and evaluate system performance under different operating conditions.





Key Responsibilities• Develop and simulate dynamic engineering models using the Modelica language and OpenModelica.
• Build models of thermal energy storage systems, heat exchangers, and related process equipment.
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations and model heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamic behaviour.
• Simulate transient system behaviour, including charging, discharging, and changes in operating conditions.
• Analyse simulation results, including temperature, pressure, heat flow, and energy performance.
• Validate models against engineering calculations, available data, and expected physical behaviour.
• Perform sensitivity analysis and investigate the impact of different design and operating parameters.
• Use Python or MATLAB for simulation data processing, analysis, and visualisation.
• Document modelling assumptions, methodology, results, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve system design and performance.
