Metal powder or nanoparticle synthesis (Ag, Cu or similar); particle size and morphology control; powder characterization
Powder development
- Design and run wet-chemical synthesis of metal powders (e.g. chemical reduction/precipitation of silver and copper).
- Control particle size distribution, morphology (spherical, flake), tap density and surface area.
- Develop surface treatments and coatings that improve dispersion and paste stability.
Characterization
- Characterize powders by PSD (laser diffraction), SEM, BET surface area, tap density, TGA/DSC and residual organics.
- Correlate powder properties with paste rheology, printing and electrical performance with the paste team.
Scale-up & support
- Write synthesis procedures and transfer processes to the Metal Powder Process Engineer for scale-up.
- Support troubleshooting of powder-related quality issues in production.
- Evaluate external powder suppliers and recent raw materials.
Lab & safety
- Supervise the assigned technician's daily work.
- Keep accurate lab notebooks and reports; follow chemical safety and waste handling rules, including precious metal accounting.
