Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and highly detailed professional to lead end-to-end export operations, regulatory compliance, organic certification, and government funding/subsidy mobilization for an integrated agriculture and food processing business. Our scaled operations include cultivating various high-value crops on a 45-acre farm, establishing contract-farming networks, sourcing certified organic ingredients, processing agricultural value produce into high-quality powders (via drying, dehydration, or freeze-drying), developing cutting-edge blended formulation powders, and executing seamless exports to highly regulated international markets including the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

- Export Operations & Logistics Excellence: Execute end-to-end international shipping logistics. Manage complete export documentation including Bills of Lading, Customs Shipping Bills, Certificates of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificates, Health Certificates, and treatment files. Supervise Customs House Agents (CHAs) to eliminate port transit delays and avoid demurrage. Coordinate overseas container placement, tracking, and buyer updates.
- International Regulatory Compliance: Obtain, renew, and enforce compliance for FSSAI licenses, Import Export Code (IEC), and APEDA registrations. Direct compliance protocols for the U.S. FDA (Food Facility Registrations, Prior Notice filings) and Canadian food import requirements (SFCR, labelling regulations, and ingredient claims). Review packaging text, allergen declarations, and nutrition panels for legal conformity.
- Organic Certification Frameworks: Develop, deploy, and manage the NPOP (India), NOP (USA), and EU organic certification roadmaps through accredited third-party certification bodies. Oversee land-use history documentation, field transition conversions (conventional to organic), internal control systems (ICS), and maintain airtight farm, production facility, inspection, and mass-balance certification records.
- Organic Sourcing, FPOs & Traceability: Authenticate supplier scope certificates and transaction certificates (TCs) for third-party raw materials.

Establish a rigorous farm-to-fork digital or structured traceability system mapping fresh farm crops and purchased raw ingredients directly through milling, blending, packaging, and shipping container sealing. Actively manage relationships with Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and cluster farms.
- Powder Processing Plant & Quality Controls: Partner with the plant production team to monitor quality controls during drying, dehydration, freeze-drying, milling, sifting, blending, and filling into moisture-resistant industrial or retail packaging. Implement robust protocols for contamination prevention (cross-contact, heavy metal detection, foreign material screening), batch uniformity, storage, and ambient/cold stability.
- Food Safety Systems & Advanced Lab Testing: Drive the implementation of food safety standards (HACCP, GlobalG.A.P., ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000, and BRCGS). Coordinate analytical laboratory testing schedules for multi-residue pesticide clearance, microbiological safety, heavy metals, moisture limits, and nutritional validation to meet strict Western buyer standards.
- Government Subsidies & Incentive Optimization: Identify, track, and secure maximum financial assistance through NABARD, APEDA, MoFPI (PMKSY / PMFME), National Horticulture Board (NHB), MSME schemes, and Tamil Nadu State Department programs (e.g., AIF, smart farm incentives). Manage strict timelines, eligibility windows, and compliant multi-scheme subsidy configurations.
- Corporate Finance, Loans & Project Capitalization: Structure and coordinate detailed project reports (DPRs), commercial bank applications, plant machinery quotes, and statutory inspections to secure Pre-shipment/Post-shipment credit, Packing Credit in Foreign Currency (PCFC), and long-term infrastructure/processing loans.

Strategically lead the process from initial banking sanction through final cash disbursement.
- Risk Management & Forex Control: Vett international trade financial mechanisms including Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees, and Document Against Payment terms. Coordinate with internal treasury or banking partners to deploy baseline Forex hedging strategies to mitigate currency volatility between procurement and export collection cycles.

Candidate Requirements & Specifications

- Educational Background: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Agribusiness Management, Agriculture, Food Technology, Agricultural Engineering, International Business, or Finance from an accredited institution.
- Domain Expertise: 7 to 12 years of core experience executing food or agricultural exports, with a definitive preference for processed food powders, dehydrated products, spices, or value-added blended organic products exported to the US and Canada.
- Regulatory Mastery: Practical, hands-on experience handling NPOP/NOP organic compliance audits, APEDA protocols, DGFT filings, FSSAI regulations, U.S. FDA registrations, and Canadian Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).
- Financial Capability: Demonstrated track record of processing detailed project reports (DPRs) that successfully unlocked bank commercial finance and government capital subsidies from initial submission to fund release.
- Operational Logistics Skills: In-depth familiarity with Incoterms 2020, foreign currency packing credit, marine insurance, cold-chain preservation protocols, and customs clearance workflows.
- Soft Skills & Travel: Fluent professional English communication, rigorous documentation practices, and strong multi-agency coordination capabilities. Complete willingness to travel to corporate offices, farm fields, processing factories, laboratory setups, commercial banks, sea/air ports, and government ministry offices.
