Manager - Insurance Accounting (R2R) - Insurance - Kochi 10+ Years

We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to lead the Record-to-Report (R2R) function for the Life & Annuity insurance segment. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of experience in insurance accounting, with strong expertise in month-end closing, journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting. The role also requires team management skills, knowledge of IFRS 17 and the ability to drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

1. Leading end-to-end Record-to-Report activities for the insurance business, focusing on the Life & Annuity segment.
2. Managing month-end closing activities and ensuring timely and accurate completion.
3. Supervising the preparation, review and posting of journal entries.
4. Reviewing account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring timely resolution.
5. Consolidating and presenting month-end financial reports to senior management.
6. Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls and regulatory requirements.
7. Coordinating with actuarial, underwriting and claims teams to validate financial information.
8. Driving process improvements, standardization and automation across accounting operations.
9. Monitoring key performance indicators and mentoring team members to improve process efficiency and quality.

Requirements

1. Minimum 10 years of R2R experience within an insurance organization, with relevant insurance accounting exposure being mandatory.
2. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; CA/CPA qualification preferred.
3.



Strong knowledge of month-end closing, general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.
4. Understanding of insurance accounting standards, including IFRS 17 and applicable local GAAP.
5. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and advanced Microsoft Excel.
6. Prior team management experience with strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
