Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Barista with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or hospitality workplace. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso-based beverages, coffee machines, and customer service. The candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality hot and cold beverages, maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the café.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, mocha, macchiato, cold coffee, iced coffee, frappes, and other specialty drinks.
2. Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, blenders, and other beverage preparation equipment.
3. Demonstrate expertise in espresso extraction, milk steaming, milk frothing, temperature control, and coffee presentation.
4. Create attractive latte art and ensure consistency in the taste, quality, and presentation of beverages.
5. Take customer orders accurately, recommend suitable beverages, and provide personalized suggestions based on customer preferences.
6. Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers professionally, responding to queries, and resolving complaints promptly.
7. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene at the coffee counter, preparation area, equipment,



utensils, and customer service stations.
8. Follow food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and company policies while preparing and serving beverages.
9. Monitor coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, toppings, and other inventory items to ensure adequate stock availability.
10. Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, expiry-date checks, and reporting shortages to the supervisor or manager.
11. Handle cash, billing systems, POS terminals, and digital payments accurately, whenever required.
12. Coordinate with kitchen staff, service teams, and café managers to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment.
13. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), recipes, portion sizes, and beverage quality guidelines.
14. Support promotional activities, seasonal beverage launches, menu updates, and upselling of food and beverage products.
15. Ensure the café is properly opened and closed, including equipment checks, cleaning, and workstation preparation.
16. Train or guide junior baristas and new team members on beverage preparation, customer service, and hygiene practices, whenever required.
17. Maintain a professional appearance, punctuality, discipline, and a positive attitude throughout the shift.





- Required Skills and QualificationsMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Barista in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel, or similar establishment.
- Good knowledge of specialty coffee, espresso-based beverages, and hot and cold coffee preparation.
- Practical experience operating commercial espresso machines, grinders, and milk-frothing equipment.
- Knowledge of milk steaming, espresso calibration, coffee extraction, and basic latte art.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently during busy hours while maintaining beverage quality.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to handle customer orders, multitask, and work effectively in a team.
- Knowledge of POS systems and billing procedures will be an added advantage.
- Flexibility to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Preferred Candidate ProfileCandidates with experience in premium cafés, specialty coffee shops, hotel cafés, or high-volume coffee outlets will be preferred.
- Candidates who can independently manage the coffee counter and maintain consistent beverage quality.
- A positive, energetic, customer-oriented professional with a passion for coffee and hospitality.
