About the Opportunity

TechTalent Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Windows Systems Engineer – Workstation Operations to support a major global pharmaceutical organisation.

This is a long-term contract prospect focused on maintaining the stability, security and performance of approximately 2,500 specialised Windows workstations supporting laboratory, manufacturing and business-critical operations.

We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on engineer with broad Windows expertise who can investigate complex incidents, resolve operational issues and collaborate with infrastructure, application and cybersecurity teams.

Please note: This is a workstation-focused engineering role, not a traditional IT helpdesk position or a role focused primarily on Windows Server administration.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide advanced technical support for enterprise Windows workstations, including specialist laboratory and manufacturing systems.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows workstation incidents.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows authentication.
- Use PowerShell for troubleshooting, scripting and operational automation.
- Support workstation patching, software installation, deployment and configuration management.
- Monitor workstation health, performance, security and compliance.
- Investigate issues involving workstation hardware, operating systems, applications, networking and connected systems.
- Work with endpoint management and security tools such as SCCM, Intune, Tanium, CrowdStrike or equivalent technologies.
- Coordinate incident resolution with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity and other technical teams.




- Perform root-cause analysis and contribute to long-term incident prevention.
- Support security vulnerability remediation and endpoint compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, incident records and operational runbooks.
- Follow established change-control and compliance procedures when supporting regulated systems.
- Support legacy Windows environments and specialised applications where required.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 workstations in enterprise environments.
- Solid knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Practical PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with enterprise endpoint management, software deployment and patch management.
- Ability to investigate and resolve complex technical incidents independently.
- Broad understanding of Windows infrastructure, networking, identity management and endpoint security.
- Experience working with incident, problem and change-management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate with international technical teams.
- Comfortable taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.

Highly Desirable

- Previous experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life-sciences industry.
- Familiarity with GMP/GxP-regulated environments.
- Experience supporting Windows workstations used in laboratories or manufacturing facilities.
- Exposure to instrument-connected workstations, validated systems or legacy Windows applications.
- Experience with tools such as Tanium, CrowdStrike, BeyondTrust, Nexthink or Rubrik.
- Experience supporting business-critical systems where downtime must be minimised.

Laboratory workstation experience is highly desirable but not mandatory. Candidates with strong enterprise Windows workstation engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
