Bengaluru

Sarvoham is looking for a Video Content Creator & Editor (Animal Welfare / Documentary Storytelling) who genuinely believes in compassion, animal welfare, animal rights, and responsible people relationships.

This is not a desk-only role. Our Communications, Marketing & Outreach team must understand the realities of working in an animal shelter and be willing to step onto the ground whenever required pro-actively.

Position: Video Content Creator & Editor

Department: Communications, Marketing & Outreach

Reports To: Social Media Manager

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time, 6-days work a week

ABOUT SARVOHAM:

Sarvoham is an animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing, medical treatment, rehabilitation, welfare and protection of injured, abandoned, abused and neglected animals living on the streets of Bangalore, India. Sarvoham was established in April 2017 by co-founders Haris Ali & Madhusmita Sahu with a vision to create an inclusive eco-system that co-exists with animals providing them a respectable life that contributes to the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the planet.

In the past 9 years, Sarvoham has grown from a small charity effort to a well-established animal welfare organization which has rescued more than 3500 street animals, and homes more than 200 dogs at its shelter. Our work extends beyond just rescue; we strive to build a compassionate society through ethical leadership, animal welfare education, community outreach and engagement in addition to advocacy.

Sarvoham means the harmony between all elements of nature, both human and non-human animals, and the organization is guided by the spirit of harmonious coexistence.

ROLE PURPOSE:

Sarvoham Welfare Trust stands at a defining moment in its journey to create a more compassionate world for animals and seeks to expand its impact by building a sustainable ecosystem of partnerships and philanthropy that will enable many more lives to be saved and transformed.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and organized Video Content Creator & Editor (Animal Welfare / Documentary Storytelling) who can capture the daily life, rescues, treatments, recoveries, adoptions and behind-the-scenes work at Sarvoham. You will be responsible for producing high-quality videos for fundraising campaigns, social media, YouTube, donor communications, educational content, recruitment and documentary-style storytelling.

This is not just another videography job—you will help tell the stories of animals who have no voice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Video Production

- Capture the real stories behind Sarvoham’s work, from animal rescues and medical treatments to rehabilitation and recovery journeys.
- Film adoption success stories, volunteer experiences and everyday moments from life at the shelter.
- Cover events, fundraising campaigns, awareness programs, CSR visits and educational activities.
- Record interviews with veterinarians, founders, team members, volunteers, adopters and donors to share their experiences and perspectives.

2. Storytelling

- Turn everyday moments at the shelter into meaningful visual stories that help people connect with the animals and their journeys.

- Create videos that encourage people to donate, adopt, volunteer, foster and become part of Sarvoham’s mission.
- Develop awareness videos that promote compassion for animals, veganism and animal rights.
- Tell honest, relatable stories that help people understand the challenges animals face and the difference their support can make.

3. Video Editing and Post-Production

- Edit videos for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Sarvoham’s website, fundraising campaigns and email communications.
- Handle the complete editing process, including colour correction, sound, background music, subtitles and motion graphics.
- Create engaging thumbnails, easy logo animations and different video formats suited to each platform.
- Make sure every video reflects Sarvoham’s identity, communicates the story clearly and meets the expected quality standards.

4. Content Planning and Creative Ideas

- Work closely with the Communications team to plan video shoots, campaigns and weekly content.
- Maintain a clear content calendar so video production stays organised and consistent.
- Share creative ideas for videos, campaigns and storytelling that support Sarvoham’s goals.
- Keep up with new trends, formats and platform-specific best practices, and suggest ways to make Sarvoham’s videos more engaging and effective.

5. Equipment Management

- Take proper care of cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, microphones, drones and other video production tools.
- Keep track of equipment, memory cards, batteries and accessories to ensure everything is available when needed.
- Make sure equipment is clean, charged, safely stored and ready for shoots.
- Identify equipment issues, coordinate repairs and recommend replacements when necessary to avoid disruptions to production.

6. Media Organisation and File Management

- Keep all raw footage, edited videos and project files properly organised, labelled and archived.
- Maintain a well-structured digital library so the team can quickly find and reuse footage whenever needed.
- Ensure important media files are backed up securely, both locally and in the cloud.
- Follow consistent file-naming and storage practices to make it easier for the team to access, share and manage video projects.

7. On-Ground and Live Coverage

- Be present on the ground to capture rescue operations, animal rehabilitation, medical care and everyday shelter activities.
- Document fundraising events, awareness campaigns, CSR visits, volunteer activities and educational workshops as they happen.
- Travel locally when required to cover animal rescues, field activities and other organisational events.
- Be prepared to capture important moments as they unfold, while working responsibly around animals and following the team's safety and handling guidelines.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

The ideal candidate is a compassionate animal welfare advocate with a genuine creative instinct — someone who can move fluidly between shooting a rescue video, writing a caption, pitching a CSR partner, and organizing an event, all in service of Sarvoham's mission.

- Work Experience: 0–6 years of experience in social media management, digital content creation, or communications.
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Visual Arts, or a related field; equivalent demonstrated experience will also be considered.
- Portfolio: A demonstrable portfolio of photography, videography, and/or social media content — ideally including emotionally resonant storytelling.
- Operational Skills: Proficiency in video shooting and editing (mobile or DSLR/mirrorless), basic graphic design, and social media scheduling/management tools. Comfortable working on-site at an animal shelter, including in physically and emotionally demanding conditions, to capture authentic content.
- Personality blends: Compassion that translates naturally into storytelling instinct; creative and organized in equal measure; comfortable operating as a one-person function across content, social, outreach and events; resilient when documenting difficult or distressing animal welfare situations; builds trust with institutional partners through consistency and professionalism; community-first instinct in every public-facing interaction.

PREFERRED BACKGROUNDS:

- Prior experience, professional or volunteer, with an animal welfare organization, shelter, or NGO doing similar rescue/welfare work is a plus.
- Own videography/photography equipment, or strong comfort with smartphone-based content creation.
- Practices and promotes a personal lifestyle that is animal-friendly and supports Sarvoham's mission of compassion towards all animals.
- Comfortable operating in a 6-day work week with a flexible schedule, including weekends or evenings.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in one or more video editing and creative tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Lightroom, Photoshop and Adobe Audition. Experience with Final Cut Pro is an added advantage.

WHAT YOU’LL CREATE:

You will bring Sarvoham’s work to life through a variety of engaging videos, including animal rescue stories, before-and-after recovery journeys, emergency rescue documentaries, medical treatment videos, adoption success stories, volunteer spotlights and donor impact films. You will also create educational content, animal rights and vegan awareness campaigns, fundraising appeals, shelter life documentaries, staff interviews, founder messages and behind-the-scenes videos. Your work will include both short-form videos designed to reach and engage wider audiences and longer YouTube documentaries that tell meaningful stories about the animals, the people who care for them and the impact of Sarvoham’s mission.

WHY JOIN SARVOHAM:

We are on a mission to establish equity, inclusion and compassion for animals in society, so that they can lead a fulfilling and respectable life. We are looking for an individual who resonates with this mission and believes that their experience, skills and judgment can genuinely change outcomes for the animals who need it most - leading by example.
