Role Description

We are looking for an experienced C/C++ developer to build features, fix bugs, and improve performance in StarRocks and YugabyteDB. You’ll work in large existing codebases and collaborate with project maintainers to get changes accepted upstream.

Responsibilities

- Investigate database bugs, crashes, and performance problems.
- Implement improvements in areas such as query execution, storage, concurrency, and distributed processing.
- Write regression tests and benchmarks to demonstrate correctness and performance.
- Prepare pull requests, respond to code reviews, and follow contributions through to merge.

Requirements





- Strong up-to-date C++ skills and practical experience developing on Linux.
- Experience debugging complex software, including memory and concurrency issues.
- Understanding of database internals or distributed systems.
- Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases and communicate technical decisions clearly in written English.
- Good understanding of StarRocks or YugabyteDB: what it is used for, its main architectural components, and how it executes queries and stores data.

Nice to have

- Contributions to StarRocks, YugabyteDB, or comparable database and systems projects.
- Experience with profiling, sanitizers, storage engines, query execution, or distributed transactions.
- Java expertise
