Openshift Engineer

Location : Noida / Gurgaon - Night shift and work from the office (No remote or hybrid options)

Exp : 6+ yrs (L3 support exp is required)

: L3 Senior Cloud Engineer (OpenStack & OpenShift)

Role: L3 Senior Cloud / Infrastructure Engineer

Experience: 7–10+ Years

Environment: IBM–Airtel Telco Cloud Infrastructure

Core Stack: Red Hat OpenStack (RHOSP), Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), Ansible, Linux, Ceph

Job Summary The L3 Senior Cloud Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for high-level technical support, deployment, cluster upgrades, and day-2 operations across Red Hat OpenStack and Red Hat OpenShift platforms powering Airtel's telecommunications cloud managed by IBM.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy & Configure: Setup and configure production-grade Red Hat OpenStack (RHOSP) and OpenShift (OCP) clusters on bare-metal servers.

Upgrades & Patching: Plan and execute major version upgrades, patching, and node OS updates with zero to minimal downtime.





L3 Escalation & RCA: Act as the top-tier technical escalation point for complex outage incidents (Sev-1/2). Lead root cause analysis (RCA) with Red Hat and IBM teams.

Automation & Security: Build Ansible playbooks and GitOps/Helm pipelines to automate cluster management, health checks, security hardening, and certificate updates.

Telco Integration: Configure telco-grade networking and storage features (SR-IOV, DPDK, OVN, Multus CNI, and Ceph/ODF storage).

Required Skills & Experience

- Technical Capabilities

Red Hat OpenStack: Deep knowledge of control plane components (Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance), TripleO / Director deployment, and OVN/OVS networking.

Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x): Hands-on experience with OCP cluster installation, etcd management, operators, machine configs, Multus, and ODF/Ceph storage.

Linux & Automation: Advanced RHEL/RHCOS administration, shell scripting, and Ansible automation.

Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, and standard logging stack troubleshooting.

- Industry Experience

7+ years overall IT infrastructure experience with 4+ years dedicated L3 experience in OpenStack and OpenShift environments.

Knowledge of telecom cloud workloads (VNFs/CNFs) and ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Escalation Management).

Preferred Certifications

EX280: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration

EX210: Red Hat Certified Specialist in Cloud Infrastructure (OpenStack)

RHCE: Red Hat Certified Engineer
