About the role
We’re looking for a science teacher who builds things. You’ll lead small groups of students in Grades 6–11 through hands-on projects. They’ll design, build, test and fix working machines, and learn the science behind why those machines work or fail.
What you’ll do
- Teach core science concepts through builds: sensors, circuits, forces, friction, gears and control logic
- Guide students to build working devices such as alarms, smart sensors and vehicles, and help them work out why a build failed
- Introduce programming (if/then logic, thresholds) and AI concepts, pitched to each student’s grade
- Take older students further, into CAD design, simulation and more open-ended engineering problems
- Run fair-test investigations: change one variable, measure the result, use the data
- Assess students’ skills against a simple rubric and give explicit, encouraging feedback
- Help students present their work confidently to an audience, including parents
What we’re looking for
- A degree in science or engineering (Physics, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar)
- Hands-on experience building machines or prototypes, such as robotics, electronics or mechanical builds
- Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks); CFD experience is a plus
- Experience teaching or mentoring school children aged 11–17
- Excellent spoken and written English; able to explain complex ideas simply
- Patience with failure, and the ability to let students struggle productively instead of handing them answers
Good to have
- Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32 or similar)
- Experience with robotics and science competitions (Samsung Solve for India, Atal Tinkering Labs, INSPIRE-MANAK)
To apply: share your CV at and photos or a short video of something you’ve built or taught.
