Role Description The Fire Technician role at Northern Star Engineering is a full-time, on-site position based in Surat.

The Fire

Technician will perform routine inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and related safety equipment.

Responsibilities include assisting in system installation, identifying and troubleshooting equipment faults, and ensuring all systems meet regulatory and company standards. The role also involves documenting service activities, supporting risk assessments, and coordinating with project engineers and clients to address safety concerns.

The Fire

Technician will follow established procedures, adhere to safety guidelines,



and contribute to continuous improvement of fire safety practices.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of fire safety principles, life safety requirements, and general Fire Safety practices.
- Hands-on experience with Fire Extinguisher inspection, servicing, and basic repair.
- Experience working with Fire Suppression Systems, including installation, testing, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot fire protection equipment and systems and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Understanding of relevant fire codes, standards, and compliance requirements (local and national).
- Certificate, diploma, or vocational training in fire and safety engineering, electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping skills, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Physical ability to work on-site, including climbing ladders, handling equipment, and working in diverse environments.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and clients.
- Previous experience in fire safety, facility maintenance, or related technical roles is an advantage.
