Role Description The Fabric Sourcing Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing fabric suppliers that meet the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements for mens, womens, and kids garments.

The Fabric Sourcing

Manager will negotiate pricing and terms, manage purchase orders, and maintain solid relationships with mills and suppliers locally and internationally. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating fabric sampling and approvals, monitoring lead times, ensuring compliance with buyer specifications and quality standards, and resolving sourcing or delivery issues. The role will also collaborate closely with design, production, and merchandising teams to forecast fabric needs, optimize inventory,



and support new product development.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in fabric sourcing, supplier management, and vendor negotiation within the apparel or textile industry.
- Knowledge of woven fabrics, washes, and finishing techniques relevant to fashion garments.
- Experience in quality control for fabrics, including testing, compliance with buyer standards, and defect prevention.
- Skills in cost analysis, budgeting, and price benchmarking to achieve competitive fabric costs.
- Ability to manage timelines, track orders, and ensure on-time fabric delivery aligned with production schedules.
- Proficiency in using MS Office and basic ERP or sourcing tools for data management and reporting.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Supply Chain, or a related field; relevant diplomas may be considered.
- Prior experience (typically 8+ years) in fabric sourcing or materials management for export-oriented garment manufacturing is preferred.
- Familiarity with international markets and buyer expectations, particularly in Europe, is an advantage.
