Teach children to make things with their hands — in clay, wood and paint.
Young Engineers' Academy (YEA!) is adding creative arts studios to its learning centres. We are looking for Creative Arts Mentors — practising artists and makers who love teaching children, and who can turn a lump of clay, a plank of wood or a blank sheet into a project a child is proud to take home.
About YEA!
YEA! is a growing network of hands-on learning centres where children aged 6 and above learn robotics, AI, coding, electronics, 3D printing and making — by building. YEA! is a brand of Robokidz Eduventures Limited, a Pune-based K-12 STEM, Robotics and AI education company listed on the BSE SME platform, and is operated by its subsidiary Robokidz Retails Pvt. Ltd.
What You'll Do
- Teaching — run studio sessions for small batches of children aged 6+ in clay modelling and pottery, woodworking, painting and mixed media, each built around a project a child can finish and take home
- Programme — build the YEA! creative arts curriculum with our Training team: term-wise projects, lesson plans, sample pieces, and STEAM projects that link art with robotics
- Studio & safety — set up and run the studio: tools, materials, wheel and kiln, drying and firing schedules, and strict child safety
- Workshops & showcases — weekend workshops, holiday camps, school and community sessions, and a student exhibition every term
- Parents & team — regular progress updates to parents, student records, and joint projects with our robotics and AI mentors
What You Bring
- MFA, MVA or MA in Fine Arts (Sculpture, Ceramics, Painting or Applied Art). A BFA, BVA, B.Des,
GD Art or ATD with a strong portfolio will also be considered
- Strong hands-on skill in at least one of: clay & pottery (hand-building, wheel, glazing, kiln firing), woodworking (hand tools, joinery, carving, finishing) or painting & drawing (watercolour, acrylics, mixed media) — and comfort in a second
- 1–5 years of teaching art, craft or making to children — in a school, art academy, hobby studio, camp or workshop series. Final-year students who have run children's workshops are also welcome
- Patience, warmth and the ability to manage a lively batch of 10–15 children safely
- Good English and Hindi; Marathi is a plus
- Pune-based or willing to relocate; comfortable working weekends, with a weekly off on a weekday
- A plus: maker-space or STEAM experience, an interest in robotics or electronics, or skill in photographing your work
What We Offer
- Build a current creative arts programme from the start — your projects become the curriculum across YEA! centres in India
- A well-equipped studio, and work where art meets engineering
- A growth path to Senior Mentor and Studio Lead – Creative Arts as the network expands
- Competitive monthly pay, based on experience and portfolio
Work Schedule
After-school and weekend batches. Weekends are working days, with a weekly off on a weekday.
How to Apply
Apply here on LinkedIn and add a link to your portfolio — your own work, and photos of children's work from sessions you have run. Shortlisted candidates will take a 30-minute demo session at a YEA! centre. Final selection is subject to background and police verification.
