Summary

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by proactively monitoring and analyzing various components of essential business systems. This role requires identifying issues swiftly and accurately, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. The engineer collaborates with different teams to trace problems, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions, maintaining the stability and performance of critical applications throughout the day.

Day-to-day responsibilities and project activities include:

Administer and maintain Dynatrace platform and Cribl, specifically Log Management/Analytics functions.

Develop and optimize dashboards, alerts, reports, and custom monitoring solutions using Dynatrace Query Language (DQL) and Dynatrace Pattern Language (DPL).

Build and support data ingestion pipelines for logs, metrics, traces, and events from cloud (AWS, Alibaba, OCI) and on-prem environments.

Establish observability standards, governance, and best practices to improve platform adoption, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Provide technical guidance, training, and support to engineering and operations teams on observability practices and tools.

Integrate observability tools with IT Operations platforms such as ServiceNow, BigPanda, and other ICD solutions.

Automate operational tasks, monitoring workflows, and reporting processes using PowerShell and Python scripts.

Support CI/CD implementation and deployment activities using Git, Harness,



Terraform, and related DevOps tools.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) solutions for observability platform deployments.

Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to address their observability requirements and build optimal solutions

Create technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles for observability solutions.

Evaluate and implement emerging observability, automation, AI, and AIOps technologies to improve operational visibility and service reliability.

Provide technical guidance, training, and support to engineering and operations teams on observability practices and tools.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless resolution of system issues.
- Document findings and solutions clearly to support knowledge sharing within the team.
- Assist junior team members by providing guidance and support in troubleshooting activities.

Skilled & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Dynatrace Administration.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor and interpret system performance data effectively.
- Experience in troubleshooting complex software environments and identifying root causes.
- Ability to configure and optimize monitoring tools to enhance system visibility.
- Familiarity with incident management processes and tools to ensure timely resolution.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Information
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Dynatrace Administration.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
