mentblue is a DPIIT-recognised legal education and careers platform. We run practitioner-led certificate courses for law students and young lawyers, provide career services to law schools, and connect students with mentors and recruiters.

About the role

We are looking for a founding engineer to own our product workflow end to end. You will work directly with the founders and our product engineering lead to shape features, build them across the stack, deploy them and keep them running in production. AI is central to what we are building next, so you will also lead the LLM-powered features on the platform.

What you will do

- Build and ship features end to end with Next.js, React, Node.js and TypeScript, from data model and APIs to interface and deployment.
- Design backend services on MongoDB and Redis, including background jobs, email and WhatsApp notifications, and payment flows.
- Build AI features with LLM APIs: structured outputs, retrieval over documents, prompt design and evaluation, and checks that keep outputs reliable.
- Deploy and run services on AWS with Docker, with CI/CD, monitoring and logging.
- Take ownership of technical decisions and of the quality of what you ship.

What we are looking for





- At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
- A record of building products end to end and owning the full product workflow.
- Production experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Next.js, React, MongoDB, Redis, REST APIs, AWS and Docker.
- Knowledge of AI and LLMs is necessary. You should have built something with an LLM API and understand where models fail.
- Comfort working in a small team without detailed specifications, with clear written communication.

Valuable to have

- Payment gateway integration (Razorpay or similar).
- Queues or event-driven systems (BullMQ, SQS or similar).
- Experience with marketplace, education or legal products.

Job details

Full-time and remote. Salary as per experience.
