Job Description:

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on accountant who can independently manage end-to-end accounting activities, maintain accurate inventory and financial records, and ensure timely reporting and compliance. Candidates who have worked with retail chain shops, supermarket are highly preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable handling both inventory-related activities and routine accounting work.

Software Requirements: Tally (mandatory); Odoo exposure is an added advantage

Location: Triplicane, Chennai (Only candidates currently residing in and around Triplicane, Chennai will be considered.)
Experience: 3–5 years
Salary: ₹25,000–₹30,000 per month, based on experience and suitability

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a minimum of 4 years of handson experience in full-cycle accounting. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and reconciliation processes. Proficiency in Tally and practical experience in inventory management and accounting are essential. Exposure to Odoo ERP will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Cycle Accounting

● Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

● Handle general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and vendor and customer account reconciliations.

● Prepare monthly financial statements, including the Profit & Loss Account and Balance Sheet.

● Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.

● Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.

Inventory Accounting and Management

● Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile physical stock with book balances. ● Monitor stock receipts, issues, transfers, and adjustments.

● Reconcile inventory balances with the general ledger.

● Track inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and stock discrepancies.

● Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy.

● Assist with periodic physical stock verification and investigate inventory variances. 3. Taxation and Statutory Compliance

● Assist in the preparation and filing of GST returns and other applicable statutory returns.

● Ensure proper maintenance of tax invoices, supporting documents, and accounting records.

● Support statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits by providing required schedules and documentation.

● Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements. 4. Accounts Payable and Receivable

● Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and monitor payment schedules.

● Track customer outstanding balances and follow up on overdue receivables.

● Ensure timely recording of receipts, payments, and credit/debit notes.

● Maintain accurate vendor and customer ledgers. 5.



Accounting Software and Reporting ● Use Tally for daily accounting transactions, ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

● Utilize Excel for accounting schedules, reconciliations, and management reports.

● Support ERP-based accounting and inventory processes.

● Experience with Odoo ERP will be an added advantage.

Required Qualifications and Skills

● Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

● Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in full-cycle accounting.

● Strong hands-on experience with Tally software.

● Mandatory experience in inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.

● Sound knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.

● Working knowledge of GST and applicable statutory compliance.

● Good proficiency in MS Excel.

● Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.

● Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

● Exposure to Odoo ERP or other accounting/ERP systems.

● Experience in inventory-intensive businesses such as trading, distribution, manufacturing, or retail.

● Experience supporting audits and financial closing activities.
