JOB DESCRIPTION – NPD PURCHASE ENGINEER

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, automotive components, agricultural machinery, or engineering manufacturing is preferred.

Experience

- 2–3 years of experience in Purchase / NPD Purchase / Vendor Development.
- Relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication and new product development procurement is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, machining, and surface finishing.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand BOMs.
- Knowledge of vendor development, cost negotiation, and supplier evaluation.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, quotation comparison, and cost analysis.
- SAP / ERP knowledge is preferred.
- Valuable communication, coordination, negotiation, and follow-up skills.





Key Responsibilities

- Handle purchase activities for New Product Development (NPD) projects from prototype stage to mass production.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for sheet metal components, fabrication parts, machining components, and bought-out items.
- Source materials such as MS sheets, CRCA sheets, HR sheets, SS sheets, pipes, tubes, fasteners, and standard hardware.
- Coordinate with Design, R&D;, Production, PPC, Quality, and Stores departments to understand material and component requirements.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate costs, and finalize suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery.
- Understand engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), specifications, and revision changes.
- Procure prototype components, laser-cut parts, CNC-bent components, welded assemblies, machined parts, and other NPD requirements.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
