JOB DESCRIPTION – MONTESSORI TEACHER

Position: Montessori Teacher
Department: Pre-Primary / Early Years
Qualification: NTT / Montessori Teacher Training / NTT Diploma or equivalent qualification
Experience: 1–3 years of experience preferred
Location: Kongu SRV International School, Salem

Job Summary

We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic Montessori Teacher to facilitate early childhood learning through activity-based and child-centred teaching methods. The candidate should create a secure, engaging, and stimulating classroom environment that supports children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and implement age-appropriate Montessori activities and learning experiences.
- Develop children's language, numeracy, motor skills, creativity, and social skills.
- Prepare and maintain Montessori teaching materials and classroom resources.
- Encourage independent learning, exploration, and hands-on activities.
- Observe and assess children's developmental progress and maintain records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organised, and child-friendly classroom.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and development.
- Support classroom routines, discipline, and positive behaviour.




- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to ensure effective learning.
- Participate in school events, meetings, training sessions, and other assigned activities.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of Montessori teaching methods and materials.
- Classroom management and activity-planning skills.
- Creativity and the ability to engage young learners.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining student records and preparing learning materials.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Relevant Montessori or early childhood education qualification.
- Prior experience handling pre-primary children.
- Ability to create an inclusive, positive, and engaging learning environment.
- Commitment to children's safety, wellbeing, and holistic development.
