Production & Sourcing Merchandiser – Apparel

Chase the Sun (CTS) is an emerging Canadian travel and lifestyle apparel brand focused on creating comfortable, versatile and stylish clothing for people who love to explore.

As we expand our product range, we are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Production & Sourcing Merchandiser to manage and coordinate our apparel production in India.

This is an chance to work closely with the founders of a growing international brand and play an important role in building its production and sourcing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Management

- Coordinate the complete production process, from sampling to finished goods.
- Follow up with manufacturers to ensure production timelines, quality standards and delivery schedules are maintained.
- Prepare and maintain production trackers, time-and-action calendars and order status reports.
- Identify production delays and proactively resolve issues.

2. Sourcing & Vendor Management

- Source fabrics, trims, labels, packaging materials and garment manufacturers.
- Identify and develop reliable suppliers for various apparel categories.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, minimum order quantities (MOQs) and lead times.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential vendors.

3. Product Development & Sampling

- Coordinate sample development based on design specifications and tech packs.
- Communicate sample corrections and ensure timely revisions.
- Monitor fabric quality, garment measurements, fit, construction and finishing.
- Coordinate pre-production samples and approvals before bulk manufacturing.

4. Quality Control & Shipment Coordination





- Monitor product quality throughout production.
- Coordinate inline and final quality inspections.
- Ensure correct quantities, size ratios, labelling and packaging.
- Coordinate with factories and logistics partners to prepare orders for international shipment.

5. Reporting & Communication

- Provide regular production updates to the Canada-based CTS team.
- Maintain accurate costing sheets, vendor records and production documentation.
- Communicate proactively regarding challenges, timelines and required approvals.

Candidate Requirements

- 3–4 years of experience in apparel merchandising, sourcing or production coordination.
- Previous experience with a garment export house, buying house or apparel manufacturer preferred.
- Good understanding of fabrics, garment construction, sampling, costing and production processes.
- Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and manufacturers.
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production tracking.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with an international team.
- Willingness to visit factories and suppliers as required.

Compensation

₹30,000–₹40,000 per month, depending on relevant experience and capabilities.
