Job Summary

Actuate Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented Estimation Engineer with experience in mechanical fabrication, conveyor systems, Special Purpose Machines (SPM), and industrial material handling equipment.

The ideal candidate should have expertise in preparing cost estimates, interpreting engineering drawings, calculating material requirements, obtaining vendor quotations, and preparing commercial proposals for engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for conveyor systems, SPM machinery, fabrication works, and material handling equipment.
- Analyse engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and BOMs to determine project requirements.
- Calculate material quantities, fabrication costs, machining costs, and assembly requirements.
- Estimate costs for structural steel, sheet metal, mechanical components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, rollers, and other equipment.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals and detailed cost breakdowns.
- Estimate labour, manufacturing, machining, welding, painting, assembly, and installation costs.
- Coordinate with design,



production, procurement, and project teams to validate technical and commercial requirements.
- Compare supplier quotations and identify cost-effective sourcing options.
- Maintain estimation records, costing sheets, and quotation databases.
- Support the sales and project teams in preparing competitive customer quotations.
- Review project cost variations and support cost optimisation initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in estimation, costing, or tendering within fabrication, conveyor systems, industrial machinery, or SPM manufacturing.
- Solid ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes, sheet metal, structural steel, welding, machining, and assembly.
- Understanding of conveyor components, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and mechanical drive systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and preparation of costing sheets.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings is preferred.
- Experience in BOM analysis, BOQ preparation, vendor negotiations, and quotation comparison.
- Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
