- Role overview The Paikane Group is hiring an R&D; Engineer to lead development of a portable battery energy storage system (BESS) with integrated inverter, for household and small-scale industrial use.
- The role owns the project end to end: scoping, vendor sourcing, integration and delivery of a working product.

Key responsibilities

- Own the portable BESS-cum-inverter project from concept through working prototype and production readiness. Define product requirements and system architecture: battery pack, BMS, inverter/charger, solar input, enclosure and thermal design. Identify, evaluate and onboard vendors for cells, battery packs, BMS, inverters, MPPT/solar components and mechanicals. Scope, select and modify available systems so that components from multiple vendors integrate into one reliable product.
- Manage sourcing and procurement: RFQs, quotations, cost comparisons, negotiations, samples and delivery timelines. Coordinate prototyping, testing, validation and pilot builds with vendors and contract manufacturers. Brainstorm, report progress and align decisions regularly with Pai Kane Group
- Maintain project documentation: specifications, BOMs, test reports, vendor records and timelines. Travel across India to visit vendors, manufacturers and installation sites. Experience required Industry background in power electronics: an inverter company,



an inverter development project and/or battery pack development. Working knowledge of solar installations and deployments (on-grid, off-grid and hybrid systems). Hands-on experience in sourcing and procurement of electronic and electrical components or sub-systems.
- Proven record of coordinating product development or manufacturing with external vendors to deliver a working solution.
- Experience in product design and development, from specification to tested prototype.

Education Required:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in Power Electronics, Electronics or Electrical Engineering. Also considered: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in the power sector, specifically batteries and inverters.
- Preferred: Master's degree in a relevant discipline. Solid, relevant work experience can substitute for a Master's.

Skills and attributes

- Strong fundamentals in power electronics, battery systems (Li-ion/LFP, BMS) and inverter topologies. Ability to evaluate off-the-shelf systems and adapt them to work together. Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable updating senior stakeholders.
- Self-driven, organised and able to run a project with multiple stakeholders and vendors. Willing to travel extensively across the country.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
