About the role

Constelli Signals is hiring an electronics Technician to build, test and field-support RF and SDR hardware
for its defence programs. You will work hands-on with engineers to turn prototypes into working systems,
from the bench to field trials.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly and rework

- Assemble, solder and rework PCBs, including SMD parts (0402 and fine-pitch ICs) and RF

connectors (SMA, MMCX, U.FL).

- Build and dress cable harnesses, RF cable assemblies and enclosures to drawings and IPC

standards.

- Integrate SDRs, RF front ends, power amplifiers, LNAs, filters and antennas into system chassis.

Testing and troubleshooting

- Run bench tests on RF modules and SDR boards: output power, gain, VSWR/return loss, spurious

and harmonics, noise figure.

- Use spectrum analysers, VNAs, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters and DC loads to

measure and verify performance.

- Fault-find to component level and record the root cause and fix.
- Run power-up, burn-in and environmental (thermal, vibration) test procedures.

System integration and field trials

- Set up and maintain C-UAS test rigs: RF detection, direction-finding, jamming and radar sub

systems, drones and target emitters.

- Support outdoor field trials and customer demonstrations,



including antenna setup, cabling,

power and data logging.

- Load firmware and software builds onto SDRs, Raspberry Pi and embedded boards, and run test

scripts.

Lab and documentation

- Maintain test equipment, calibration records, ESD controls and lab inventory.
- Write test reports, assembly notes and as-built records, and update work instructions.
- Follow RF safety, ESD and high-power handling procedures.

Required Qualifications

- Experience with SDR hardware (ADALM-Pluto, USRP, HackRF, BladeRF or similar).
- Exposure to vector network analysers, power meters and RF test fixtures.
- Work on drones/UAVs, data links, radar or RF jamming/detection systems.
- Basic Linux command line and running Python test scripts.
- Experience setting up antennas, masts and RF links outdoors.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD / JSS 55555 environmental testing or defence QA processes.
- Basic crimping and connector termination for RF and power cables.
