Tech in Mechanical Engineering Job Purpose To ensure smooth functioning of plant machinery and equipment through preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults in production machines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain and repair gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, conveyors, and other mechanical components.
• Ensure proper functioning of production line equipment and utility systems.
• Conduct regular machine inspections and identify potential failures.
• Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and spare parts inventory.
• Coordinate with the production team to minimize machine downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Support installation, commissioning,
and modification of machinery.
• Identify root causes of recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions. Required Skills
• Solid knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of 5S, TPM, and safety practices.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Experience
• Experience in an automotive or manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of production machinery and industrial maintenance practices.
