Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Coder role located in the Pune Division. The Medical Coder will review clinical documentation and apply appropriate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services to support accurate billing and reimbursement. Responsibilities include validating codes against payer guidelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and working with clinical and billing teams to clarify documentation. The role involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding rules, identifying coding discrepancies, and contributing to efficient revenue cycle processes.



The Medical Coder will also support quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing training and audits. Qualifications
• Demonstrated Medical Coding and Coding Experience skills, with the ability to accurately assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Health Information Management principles to interpret and translate clinical documentation.
• Relevant credentials such as RHIT or equivalent certification, or progress toward recognized coding certifications (e.g., CPC, CCS) are preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement processes, payer guidelines, and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, local regulations).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clinical, billing, and operations teams.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software; comfort with working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
• Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field is beneficial.
