6+ years Employment Type: Full-time About Vector Technics Vector Technics is a Hyderabad-based company developing electric propulsion and power systems for UAVs and drones, serving defense and strategic applications. Our capabilities are vertically integrated, from design through to deployment, and our design team works alongside our own CNC and assembly cells. Role Overview We are hiring a Senior CAD Designer to own the mechanical design of our motors and actuators, from first sketch to released drawing. Our CNC cell is a short walk from your desk, so you will see how your parts are actually cut and can refine the design to make it faster and cheaper to manufacture. You will also set the CAD standard for the design team and hold our drawing discipline to an AS9100D audit level.

Key Responsibilities
• Own the mechanical design of motors, actuators and their assemblies in Solid Edge, including housings, rotors, shafts, bearing arrangements, hubs and mounts, from first sketch to released drawing.
• Release drawings that CNC and assembly cells can build straight away, with full GD&T;, tolerance stacks, fits and finishes, and nothing left to interpretation.
• Design for our own machines: work directly with the CNC cell, observe how parts are cut, and modify designs to reduce machining time and cost.
• Run the drawing discipline: part numbering, BOMs, revisions and change control that stand up in an AS9100D audit.
• Set the CAD standard for the design team and review junior designers' work to ensure it meets senior-level quality before release. Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, with Solid Edge as your primary tool.




• Demonstrated ability to build large motor assemblies in Solid Edge that remain secure on rebuild, with released parts to show for it.
• Working knowledge of turning, milling and sheet metal processes, sufficient to hold a design discussion with machinists on equal terms.
• Experience designing components that spin at high speed or carry load, such as motors, gearboxes, spindles, actuators or similar.
• Strong command of GD&T;, tolerance stack-ups, fits and finishes, with a track record of completing drawings, not just models.
• Candidates with expert-level experience in another parametric CAD tool who can transition to Solid Edge within weeks are encouraged to apply. Please state this clearly in your application. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with structural and thermal analysis in Solid Edge Simulation.
• Prior exposure to AS9100D or similar aerospace/defense quality systems.
• Experience in change control, BOM management and revision control. What You Will Bring
