About the Role
Designation: SDE 3 – Web (Frontend)

Experience:
5–8 years, with 3+ years on large React applications

Location:
Bengaluru (Bellandur, ORR)

About The Role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer (SDE 3) to lead web engineering across all three FundsIndia businesses, from application architecture and frameworks to performance, quality and our shared design system.

About the Company
FundsIndia is a 17-year-old Indian investing platform serving close to 30 lakh investors, backed by WestBridge Capital. We run three businesses on one technology foundation:
• Direct (D2C): the consumer web and app experience at fundsindia.com
• Partner: a B2B platform that independent advisors use to run their practice and serve their clients
• Private Wealth: a relationship-led experience for affluent and HNI clients Each audience expects something different, from a first-time investor to a professional advisor working a dashboard all day.

Key Responsibilities
Build the product
• Own major web features end to end, from technical design to release and monitoring.
• Build complex, data-dense interfaces that work with very large data sets, such as dashboards and tables with lakhs of rows, filtering, sorting, exports and interactive charts, and keep them fast and usable.
• Turn product and design intent into clean, reusable, well-tested code, and push back early when a requirement needs rethinking.
• Write secure front-end code for sensitive user data, covering auth flows, session handling, CSP and OWASP front-end risks. Shape the platform
• Lead the architecture of our React and Next.js applications: rendering strategy (SSR, SSG, ISR, client), routing, data fetching and state management.
• Design for several products on one foundation, using a monorepo, shared packages and, where it earns its place, micro-frontends or module federation.
• Own web performance: Core Web Vitals, bundle budgets,

code splitting, caching and real-user monitoring.
• Evolve our design system with design: tokens, theming, accessible components and Storybook docs that every team can adopt.
• Improve developer

experience:
build tooling, CI/CD, testing strategy and release safety for the web. Engineering leadership
• Write technical designs (RFCs) for significant features and platform changes, and see them through.
• Raise the bar on code review, testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and CI/CD for the web.
• Mentor SDE 1 and SDE 2 engineers, and help hire the next members of the team.
• Work closely with product, design, backend and mobile teams; you are the go-to person for anything web. Qualifications
• 5–8 years building for the web, with at least one large React application you helped architect, not just contribute to.
• A track record of leading features end to end, from RFC to production and monitoring.
• Explicit written communication; you can explain a technical trade-off to a designer or a product manager.
• Experience mentoring other engineers through code reviews and pairing. Required Skills
• Core web: Expert JavaScript and TypeScript; deep HTML and CSS, including layout, the cascade and responsive design; how browsers render and paint.
• React: Hooks, context, composition patterns, concurrent features and Server Components; you can explain why a component re-renders and fix it.
• Next.js: Production experience with App Router, SSR/SSG/ISR, middleware,

caching and image/font optimisation.
• State and data: Redux Toolkit, Zustand or similar for client state; TanStack Query or SWR for server state; REST and GraphQL integration.
• Design systems: Built or maintained a component library used by several teams; design tokens (Style Dictionary or similar); theming; Storybook; publishing versioned packages.
• Styling: CSS Modules, Tailwind or CSS-in-JS, and a clear view on the trade-offs of each for a shared library.
• Accessibility: WCAG 2.1 AA in practice: semantic markup, keyboard navigation, focus management, ARIA, screen-reader testing.
• Performance: Measured and improved Core Web Vitals on a real product using Lighthouse, WebPageTest or RUM data; rendered very large data sets smoothly using virtualisation, pagination, web workers and memoisation.
• Testing: Jest or Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress, and visual regression (Chromatic or similar).
• Tooling: Webpack, Vite or Turbopack; monorepos with Turborepo or Nx; CI/CD pipelines; feature flags. Good To Have
• Full-stack

experience:
building APIs or BFF layers in Node.js (or similar), and working with databases, caching and queues.
• Micro-frontend or module federation experience across several products or teams.
• Building white-label or multi-tenant UIs, where one codebase serves several brands or audiences.
• Data visualisation with D3, Recharts, Highcharts or similar for dense, interactive charts.
• Shared code between web and React Native.
• Front-end observability with Sentry, Datadog RUM or similar.
• Using AI coding tools well in your daily workflow, and a view on where they help and where they don't.
• Experience in fintech or another regulated industry, where security and audit trails matter.
• Open-source contributions, talks or writing on front-end engineering.
