Job type
Independent, entrepreneurial opportunity The job, in a nutshell You know that one person who can walk into a room full of strangers and leave with 10 new friends? We want that person. At Kai, we're building a social app to help people make real connections. And we think one of the best ways to do that is to get people off their phones and into the same room. We're looking for people who can host fun, curated meetups in Bangalore's public spaces and turn a bunch of strangers into a group that actually wants to hang out again. Think of yourself as a community builder, an experience curator, a content creator, and the person who makes the plans actually happen. All rolled into one. What you'll actually do
• Host meetups: Bring people together at curated public spaces across Bangalore.
• Make strangers feel welcome: Break the ice, get conversations going, and make sure nobody feels like the awkward person standing in a corner.
• Build your own community: Give people a reason to come back for your next meetup.
• Create content: Share stories, photos, videos, and moments from your meetups. Show people what they're missing.
• Promote your experiences: Get people excited about your events and turn that interest into bookings.
• Take ownership: Plan, organise, host, learn, experiment, and figure out what works. You won't need someone chasing you for every little thing.
What's in it for you? You earn 50% of every booking you generate. You read that right. The more people you bring in and the better your meetups become, the more you can earn. Beyond the money, you get the opportunity to:
• Build a community around your personality and interests.
• Develop real experience in entrepreneurship, content, marketing, and event hosting.
• Work independently and experiment with your own ideas.
• Turn your ability to connect with people into something you can actually earn from. Consider it a chance to build something of your own, with Kai helping make it happen. Who should apply? Honestly, we care more about your personality than your résumé. You might be:
• The friend who somehow knows everyone.
• A college student who is always organising plans.
• A creator who wants to build a community beyond social media.
• A working professional who wants to try something entrepreneurial.
• An introvert who is surprisingly good at making people feel comfortable.
• Someone who has absolutely no event-hosting experience but knows they'd be great at it. You don't need a degree in hospitality or five years of event management experience. You do need initiative, reliability, social confidence,
and a willingness to put yourself out there. And yes, you should be comfortable creating content and promoting your meetups. We want hosts who can build an audience, not just show up on the day of the event. Who probably shouldn't apply? If you want a job where someone hands you a checklist, tells you exactly what to do, and reminds you to do it, this probably isn't for you. We're looking for people who take initiative, solve problems, communicate well, and care about creating a genuinely good experience for others.
How to apply
No complicated application forms. No résumé gymnastics. Just DM us or email us with the following:
• Who are you? Tell us a little about yourself.
• Why you? Why do you think you'd make an amazing Meetup Host?
• Tell us a story. What's the last gathering you hosted? It could be a birthday, a college plan, a dinner, or a completely spontaneous get-together.
• Give us one fun memory. What happened at that gathering that still makes you smile?
• One question we're genuinely curious about: What's something not many people know about you, but you're absolutely, unapologetically sure of yourself about? The location is Bangalore. The opportunity is real. The rest is up to you. If you've always wanted to build something of your own, love bringing people together, and think you could make a room full of strangers feel like a group of friends, we want to hear from you.
