The Director will lead Technology Managers, Architects, Technical Leads, and engineering teams; own pre-sales technical proposals and estimates; and ensure solution quality, predictable delivery, and solid talent development. This is an engineering-led role, not merely project coordination. 1. End-to-End Technical Solutioning, RFPs & Estimation
· Lead end-to-end technical solutioning from discovery through technical approval and project initiation, including requirements analysis, architecture, technology selection, integration design, build-versus-buy decisions, sizing, and implementation planning.
· Own technical responses to RFPs/RFIs, proposal architecture, solution diagrams, assumptions, resource and staffing plans, effort estimates, and implementation timelines.
· Lead business and technical discovery with clients, U.
S. sales teams, Business Analysts, and solution architects; translate requirements into feasible Salesforce solution designs.
· Validate platform constraints, data architecture, security, integration complexity, nonfunctional requirements, risks, and delivery feasibility before commitments are made.
· Act as technical solution owner through pre-sales handover; ensure proposed solutions are scalable, commercially viable, and executable by the engineering team.
· Participate in technical workshops, client solution presentations, and proposal defenses; refine estimates using actual delivery benchmarks. 2. End-to-End Salesforce Technical Delivery
· Own Salesforce technical execution across concurrent implementation, modernization, integration, and enhancement projects, from design and build through testing, deployment, and stabilization.
· Manage Technology Managers, Architects, Technical Leads, and engineering teams, ensuring delivery against approved scope, effort budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
· Identify technical blockers and delivery risks early; lead recovery of troubled projects, complex integrations, and critical platform issues.
· Coordinate with Program Delivery, PM/BA, QA, DevOps, and U.
S. client stakeholders on dependencies, releases, and acceptance. 3. Portfolio Governance & Project Reviews
· Run weekly technical portfolio reviews covering milestone status, estimate-to-actual variance, remaining effort, staffing, defects, dependencies, and risks.
· Own technical forecasts and corrective actions; ensure Technology Managers maintain credible engineering plans and proactively escalate threats to delivery.
· Provide transparent portfolio reporting to the VP Engineering & Technical Delivery and collaborate with Program Delivery on project controls and change management. 4.

Salesforce Architecture & Quality
· Own architecture quality and standards, reviewing data models, security/sharing, scalability, governor limits, integrations, platform performance, and design tradeoffs.
· Guide appropriate choices between configuration and customization; ensure Apex, LWC, Flow, SOQL, event-driven and asynchronous patterns are fit for purpose.
· Enforce peer reviews, unit and regression testing, CI/CD, source control, environment management, and release quality gates.
· Lead defect root-cause reviews, reduce rework and technical debt, and promote reusable architecture patterns and engineering accelerators.
· Provide technical judgment on Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and, where relevant, Health Cloud, Field Service, Revenue Cloud, Data Cloud, and Agentforce. 5. Delivery Economics & Resource Planning
· Own engineering effort budgets, estimates, delivery efficiency, utilization, capacity plans, and staffing for assigned projects.
· Work with Finance and Program Delivery to monitor margin performance, effort variance, productivity, and corrective measures.
· Forecast demand for Salesforce skills and align technical staffing to pipeline and delivery commitments. 6. Hiring, Leadership & Culture
· Own technical hiring requirements and assessments across junior, mid-level, senior, and leadership positions; personally interview Technology Managers, Architects, Technical Leads, and senior Salesforce engineers.
· Partner with HR on sourcing, competency models, technical assessments, onboarding, career paths, development plans, and employee retention.
· Mentor technical managers and leads; establish regular coaching, meaningful 1:1s, performance feedback, succession plans, and collaborative engineering practices.
· Build a high-performing, accountable culture with strong technical ownership, merit-based recognition, continuous learning, and innovation. 7. Salesforce Capability Development & Innovation
· Establish domain-specific architecture patterns, reference solutions, internal training, certification priorities, and reusable implementation assets.
· Develop capabilities in Agentforce and Salesforce AI, AI-assisted development and testing, and integrations with Python, AI services, cloud, and data platforms.
· Collaborate with AI/Data and Cloud Technical Delivery Directors on cross-technology solutions. 8. Client Engagement & Escalations
· Serve as senior technical counterpart for Salesforce clients, clearly presenting architecture tradeoffs, risks, estimates, and recovery plans.
· Own critical technical escalations and contribute to client trust, delivery acceptance, and account growth. Required Qualifications
· 12–16+ years in enterprise software engineering and technical delivery, including significant hands-on Salesforce development and solution architecture.
· 5+ years in Salesforce architecture or senior technical leadership; 4–6+ years managing Engineering Managers, Architects,
