ATC Chains India manufactures conveyor chains, modular belts, sprockets, wear strips and conveyor components for industries including food processing, beverages, pharmaceuticals and packaging. With injection moulding facilities, CNC/VMC machining and an in-house tool room, we offer practical exposure to product development and precision manufacturing.

About the Role

We are looking for a technically skilled engineer to design and develop plastic injection moulds for conveyor components and other industrial plastic products. The role involves working closely with the tool room, production and quality teams, from initial design through mould trials and production approval.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare 3D mould models, assemblies and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Review component drawings and assess design feasibility, material shrinkage, draft angles, wall thickness and tolerances.
- Design core and cavity inserts, parting surfaces, gating and runner systems, cooling channels and ejection mechanisms.
- Develop sliders, lifters and other mould mechanisms where required.
- Prepare bills of materials,



specify standard mould components and maintain drawing revisions.
- Coordinate with tool room and CNC/VMC teams to ensure designs can be manufactured and assembled accurately.
- Participate in mould trials and support corrective action for issues such as flash, short shots, sink marks and warpage.
- Improve existing mould designs to enhance component quality, reduce cycle time and simplify maintenance.
- Maintain accurate design records and complete assigned projects within agreed timelines.

Qualifications & Required Skills

- Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a relevant mould design qualification.
- 1–3 years of practical experience in plastic injection mould design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks; knowledge of Solid Edge is an advantage.
- Understanding of injection mould construction, plastic materials, shrinkage, fits, tolerances and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with mould manufacturing processes, including CNC/VMC machining and EDM.
- Robust attention to detail, problem-solving skills and coordination with manufacturing teams.
- Relevant training from CIPET, IGTR or a recognised tool design institute is an advantage.
