Job Summary

Sterling English Residential School is looking for a disciplined, energetic and responsible Physical Education Teacher who will also take charge of hostel student training, discipline and daily routines. The candidate must be willing to reside on campus and actively supervise hostel students beyond regular school hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Physical Education & SportsConduct physical education periods for students from Grades 1 to 10.
- Plan and conduct daily physical exercises, fitness drills, yoga and sports activities.
- Train students in football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, athletics and other available sports.
- Prepare students for Sports Day, inter-school competitions and other sporting events.
- Monitor students' fitness, participation, sportsmanship and progress.
- Maintain sports equipment and ensure safe use of the sports facilities.

Hostel Student Training & DisciplineReside in the school hostel and actively supervise hostel students.

- Conduct daily morning physical training, exercises, yoga and fitness sessions as per the hostel schedule.
- Ensure students follow hostel routines, including waking up, exercise, bathing, study hours, meals, recreation and bedtime.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, cleanliness, personal hygiene and orderly behaviour among hostel students.
- Supervise evening outdoor games, fitness activities and recreational programmes.
- Monitor student attendance and movement during assigned hostel duty hours.
- Ensure students follow hostel rules and report indiscipline, safety concerns or unusual incidents promptly to the hostel management.
- Encourage leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, responsibility and respect among students.
- Coordinate with hostel wardens, teachers and school management regarding student behaviour and welfare.
- Maintain daily records of attendance, activities, discipline issues and corrective actions.

Student Safety & Welfare





- Ensure appropriate supervision of students during physical training, games and hostel activities.
- Respond promptly to injuries, illness, emergencies and safety concerns, following school procedures.
- Treat every student with dignity and fairness; use only approved, non-violent disciplinary methods.
- Follow child-protection policies and maintain appropriate qualified boundaries.
- Communicate significant behavioural or welfare concerns to the designated school authority.

School Responsibilities

- Support morning assembly, school functions, annual sports events and extracurricular activities.
- Coordinate with the academic and hostel teams to ensure consistent student routines.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to physical education, student development and hostel supervision as assigned by management.

Eligibility & Qualifications

- D.P.Ed. or B.P.Ed. from a recognised institution; relevant qualifications will be considered as per school requirements.
- Experience in school sports training, physical education or hostel supervision is preferred.
- Strong leadership, discipline management and student-handling skills.
- Knowledge of fitness training, sports safety and basic first aid.
- Good communication, organisation and reporting skills.
- Willingness to reside on campus and work according to a structured school and hostel duty roster.
