Role Description The Tekla – Sr. Checker is responsible for reviewing and verifying Tekla Structures models and drawings to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards and codes. This full time, on-site role in Chennai includes checking steel detailing, connections, assemblies, and general arrangement drawings, as well as coordinating with modelers, detailers, and design engineers to resolve discrepancies and technical issues.

The Sr. Checker will perform quality control checks, maintain revision records, and support adherence to internal workflows and client specifications.



The role also involves mentoring junior detailers, supporting project planning and timelines, and contributing to continuous improvement of Tekla-related processes and templates.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Tekla Structures for steel detailing, including checking 3D models, GA drawings, and shop/erection drawings.
- Sound knowledge of structural engineering concepts and steel fabrication/erection practices, with the ability to interpret design drawings and specifications.
- Experience with BIM workflows, model coordination, and data management within Tekla and related tools.
- Proficiency in CAD drafting and reading engineering drawings, with attention to dimensional accuracy and detailing standards.
- Demonstrated ability to perform systematic quality checks, apply project standards, and ensure code and client compliance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, detailers, and project managers in a team environment.
- Relevant experience as a Checker or Sr. Checker in steel detailing projects; prior experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline; Tekla certification or formal training is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, maintain organized documentation, and adapt to evolving project requirements and technologies.
