About Span Floors

Span Floors supplies and installs premium wood flooring, decking, façades, soffits and architectural timber screens for luxury homes and projects. We work closely with architects, interior designers and homeowners.

We are looking for a technically strong design professional who can turn architectural concepts and site measurements into accurate quantities, clear drawings and practical installation details.

Your role

You will handle quantity takeoffs, shop drawings and design support for both interior and exterior projects. You will work with our sales and technical teams, architects, fabricators and installers to ensure that what we propose can be accurately priced, manufactured and installed.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare accurate quantity calculation and BOQs from architectural drawings and site measurements.
- Calculate flooring, skirting, profiles, stairs and accessories, including layout-based cutting and wastage allowances.
- Calculate timber, subframes, brackets, fixings and accessories for decking, façades, soffits, pergolas and screens.
- Produce dimensioned plans, elevations, sections, setting-out drawings and fabrication details.
- Develop flooring layouts, patterns, borders, material transitions and junction details.
- Develop proposed framework arrangements and timber-to-metal connections in coordination with fabricators and structural consultants.
- Support material selection, finish combinations and design presentations through clear drawings and basic 3D views.
- Visit sites when required to verify dimensions, understand constraints and resolve drawing discrepancies.




- Prepare cutting lists and material schedules, and coordinate them with quotations and procurement.
- Maintain drawing revisions and ensure teams work from the latest approved information.
- Help develop standard details, drawing templates and takeoff procedures for repeat use.

Structural calculations and approvals will be coordinated with qualified structural consultants where required.

What we are looking for

- Degree or diploma in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, architectural technology or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel.
- Ability to use SketchUp or another suitable 3D modelling tool.
- Practical experience producing drawings used for fabrication or installation.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, quantities, materials, joints and construction sequences.
- Ability to identify missing information and resolve it before issuing drawings.
- Clear communication with architects, site teams and fabricators.
- Careful, organised working habits and ownership of accuracy.

Experience in façades, architectural metalwork, timber construction, flooring, joinery or detailed interior fit-outs will be particularly relevant.
