Role Overview / Position Summary

Manage material planning, procurement, supplier coordination, inventory control, and production support activities for medical-device manufacturing. Ensure the availability of materials and components while meeting production schedules, quality requirements, cost targets, and customer delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare material plans based on demand, forecasts, production schedules, and inventory requirements.
- Create and monitor purchase orders for direct and indirect materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, delivery dates, shortages, and delays.
- Maintain supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
- Identify material shortages, supply risks, and potential production interruptions.
- Develop recovery plans for delayed or critical materials.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, lead times, and excess or obsolete materials.
- Maintain accurate ERP/MRP planning, purchasing, supplier, and inventory data.
- Support production scheduling, material staging, kitting, and work-order readiness.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Program Management.
- Support supplier qualification, nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and material changes.
- Support current product introduction, engineering changes, technology transfer, and production ramp-up.
- Prepare reports on material availability, supplier delivery, inventory, purchase orders, and supply risks.




- Ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable medical-device quality requirements.
- Identify opportunities for supply chain, procurement, inventory, and process improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, materials planning, purchasing, or production control.
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably medical-device, pharmaceutical, electronics, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and purchase-order management.
- Knowledge of inventory control, material planning, production scheduling, and supplier management.
- Strong Excel, analytical, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

- Medical-device manufacturing and ISO 13485 knowledge.
- Experience with SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Experience with supplier performance management, sourcing, and cost analysis.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with new product introduction, engineering change control, and global suppliers.
- Power BI or supply chain dashboard experience
